ROCK SLIDER INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Using jack stands, place
sliders at desired position on vehicle. Center bars front to rear
between wheel openings. Tilt bars up approximately 15 degrees using
an angle finder, but make sure that both doors will open without hitting
the bars.
2. Cut legs to fit between frame and bars. Cut front leg tube on
each side at an angle to match frame. Center and rear legs can all
be cut straight.
3. Maintain a 3/8" to 1/2" gap (at least a finger width depending on how
fat your fingers are) between the pinch weld and the sliders to use the
pinch weld for strength when the sliders flex under load. We do not
recommend cutting the pinch weld to fit sliders, as it is unnecessary, and
only causes other unneeded issues.
4. Tack weld notched end of legs to sliders. Remove sliders and
fully weld legs to bars.
5. Place fully welded bars onto jack stands. Weld bars directly to
frame. We recommend using diamond shape scab plates welded to the
frame and then welding the sliders to the scab plates. Make sure to
maintain 3/8" to 1/2" gap between pinch weld and sliders.
6. Cover lower body with
aluminum foil. Clean bars with degreasing fluid. Paint and
primer as desired.
